Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite Sold Over 150,000 Units in 3 Minutes in First Sale: Xiaomi

Xiaomi's Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite went on sale for the first time on Wednesday and have garnered an impressive response from consumers in India. Manu Kumar Jain, VP Xiaomi and Managing Director Xiaomi India, claimed that the first sale on Wednesday saw over 150,000 units sold in less than three minutes.

The smartphones were made available exclusively via Amazon India and Mi.com on Wednesday. Jain also announced that the next sale will take place on November 15. Notably, Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite will hit the shelves in offline stores as well. Both Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite launch with MIUI 8 out-of-the-box, but are assured to get their MIUI 9 updates this month itself.
